Merida Bikes Though little known in the UK, Merida are the worlds second largest cycle manufacturer. They are currently raising their profile in Scotland. They have an excellent range of bikes at extremely competetive prices. Top quality componentry features at all price levels, a good example is the Scultura SE, full carbon frame and forks, Shimano Ultegra gear components and brakes and running on Maxxis Xenith tyres. All for only £1400.
Merida's sales rep James is a regular visitor to our shop. James is a fountain of cycling knowledge, he can talk for hours about the quality of Merida Bikes, and indeed, he frequently does.

Dawes Cycles Prior to opening CentreBike I worked as a holiday rep, in North Western France, for a cycling holiday company. The company I worked for specified Dawes bikes. The newest were 25 years old! they kept using them because of reliability, quality of manufacture and readily available parts. I think this speaks for itself.
Clapped out, filthy, poorly maintained. Enough about me, the bike is A Dawes circa 1985. still in use as a hire bike today. This picture was taken while trying to negotiate "Le Mont Rochard" in the Mayenne region in North-Western France. This is what cycling is all about, well it's more about trying to achieve rather than revelling in glorious failure, but it's a start.
Falcon Cycles Falcon have a huge range of bikes featuring the classic brand Claud Butler, alloy framed bikes, such as the Cape Wrath mountain bike or the San Remo road bike. Saracen Cycles As a recently appointed Saracen dealer. we are still familiarising ourselves with the range of bikes available. Their range has road bikes such as the Tour 1 for only £325 through to an impressive collection of mountain bikes such as the Zen 631 from the High End Hard-Core range.
Keen to see what the competition were doing at this level I typed "High End Hard-Core" into a search engine. Decorum prohibits me from telling you what was presented on screen before me, but it wasn't carbon framed mountain bikes let me tell you!
Bawbee Bikes My friend Allan's bike shop, based in Bridge Street, Leven, Fife. Allan's warm and friendly personality is in direct contradiction to the Siberian temperature at which he keeps his shop! Last time I visited him I had to go outside for a heat, and that was in November! Perhaps next time you're in Fife enjoying a cycle in the pleasant and sunny countryside, take the time to go and visit his shop. But for goodness sake make sure you're wearing thermal underwear!
Allan has now opened another shop in the picturesque village of Anstruther. It is called Boards, Bikes and Kites. I haven't been there yet but I think there might be a clue in the title as to what you can buy there! Why not visit Allan and his staff when next your in Anstruther. But beware. . . .there may be no heating!
